The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted And the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss, And Long-term Health by T. Colin Campbell, Thomas M. Campbell II, Howard Lyman and John Robbins

In recent years nutrition has gained in importance in the eyes of fitness experts around the world; every professional athlete now has a nutritionist along with them, not to mention that most exercising programs come with a dieting guide.

All in all, it seems as if most people believe that what we eat heavily influences our body’s ability to properly function. However, many believe that most diets nowadays are founded on hypotheses and vague theories, making them a very doubtful choice.

Fortunately, those who want to look at the discoveries made in the relation between nutrition and physical health can do so with a book titled The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted And the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss, And Long-term Health, written by T. Colin Campbell, Thomas M. Campbell II, Howard Lyman and John Robbins.

This study examines a sample of more than 6,500 adults living in more than 2,500 counties in an attempt to establish the connection between nutrition and various ailments such as diabetes and cancer by looking at more than 350 variables of health.

In the end, it was observed that the way in which a person feeds themselves has a tremendous impact on their propensity to develop physical illnesses; a proper diet can drastically lower a person’s chances of becoming sick in any way, not to mention that it can definitely help in the fight against obesity. In addition to that though, the study looks at various diets which are practiced in the Western world, mainly criticizing and putting their effectiveness, and sometimes safety, in question. Finally, the study also looks at how special interest groups affect the propagation of public information in regards to nutrition.
