A Brief Overview of the main Joint Pain Causes

As you surely remember from your biology classes, the human body is a very intricate construct held together by countless muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.

Unfortunately, it seems that for many people age is synonymous with joint pains. Unfortunately, joint pains are more of a symptom than an actual condition; there are numerous joint pain causes to discuss, so I’m only going to stick to the most common ones.

The Main Joint Pain Causes


For starters, the more we use our joints and put them under stress, the more the cartilage between them gets scraped away. Unfortunately, cartilage doesn't grow back, and it is what allows us to move our joints without feeling any pain. The thinner it becomes, the more your joints rub against each other, the more painful it becomes.

This is why many professional athletes, especially ones from high-contact sports, such as professional wrestling or American Football for example, tend to develop various conditions which lead to joint pains, such as arthritis for example.

In addition to that, there is a plethora of different conditions which can lead to experiencing pains in various joints in your body, including arthritis, bursitis, gout, osteoarthritis, and anything else which affects the structure of your bones.

In other words, your joint pains may be originating from anything between a sprain all the way to a full-blown disease, and the older you get, the higher your chance of experiencing this type of problem.

Joint Pain Relief


Even though it is not possible to eradicate all joint pains, the good news is that there are numerous supplements and treatment methods available to help you out with joint pain relief. For starters, there are over-the-counter medications, including naproxen and ibuprofen.

There are also these things called Cox-2 inhibitors which have been observed to provide a noticeable relief when it comes to joint pains. If the pains you are experiencing are too severe to be dealt with milder medication, then chances are that your doctor is going to prescribe to you some kind of opiate-based drug, such as oxycodone.


If that’s not exactly your style, you could always try your luck with natural medications and alternative methods of treatment. However, in this case you are going to be venturing at your own risks and perils seeing as how, at least most of the time, these treatment methods haven’t been scrutinized and studied scientifically. However, that is not to say they do not work… you simply need to be careful with what you decide to try out.
