Getting Acquainted with Proper Almond Oil Usage and its Benefits

If you have been playing the hair care game for a while now, then I'm certain there is no need to tell you about just how many options you have available to you. I just want to make it clear that there are indeed many choices open to everyone, and solutions which work for some may fail to produce the same results on others. It's really a matter of finding that which works best for you through trial and error.

However, there are some remedies that have a much higher success rate than others, at least where certain specific aspects of hair care are concerned, and one of them happens to be almond oil. In our exploration of the substance we will begin with a step-by-step guide on how to use it properly and get the most out of it. Following that, we are going to devote a bit of time to examining why almond oil is worth using, focusing on its two main benefits: fighting grey hairs and speeding up hair growth.

How to Use Almond Oil for Hair

And so, to begin, there are two main answers to the question “how to use almond oil for hair?”. The first method consists of using it as a conditioner, and here are the proper steps to follow if such is your plan:

  • Wet your hair slightly (don't soak it) and comb it properly to get rid of any possible tangles. This step is necessary because almond oil is more easily absorbed by wet hair.
  • Put a few drops of the oil in the palm of your hand, and then apply it to the scalp, massaging it gently in with your fingers. Do your best to apply it right near the roots of your hairs in the scalp region.
  • Use a comb and gently work your hair with it from the roots to the tips. This is to spread the oil out as evenly as possible and ensuring it gets all over your hair.
  • Put on a shower cap and keep it on for at least 30 minutes, letting the oil rest and get absorbed, doing its magic. If you can leave the shower cap on for several hours, or even the entire night, definitely do so.
  • Once the cap comes off shampoo your hair thoroughly before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. If you don't shampoo your hair before washing the oil off, it will end up looking greasy. Once it is rinsed out, simply pat your head down with a towel.

And so, as you can see, the first method is far from being anything complicated and should be upheld at least once a week if you want visible results in a reasonable amount of time. The second method revolves around using the oil on dry hair, and it goes as follows:

  • The first step is to comb your hair through and through until it gets as sleek as it can, which will facilitate the application and absorption of the almond oil.
  • Once again, pour a few drops on the oil in the palm of your hand (try not to overdo it lest you want your hair to look oily for a day or two) and then run your fingers through your hair, beginning about halfway down the hair shaft and until the very tips. In essence, you are seeking to coat the lower half of your hair. If applied too close to the roots, your hair will once again end up looking greasy.
  • And that's all there is to it! All that's left to do is simply style your hair the way you want to, and perhaps do the treatment as needed over the course of the day to maintain that shiny and fluffy appearance.

Indeed, that's really what you need to know to get started on your journey to treating your hair with almond oil; applying it is far from being rocket science, and can be done quickly and easily in the comfort of your own home. And now, the time has come to delve deeper into the matter and see why it is exactly that almond oil is such a big deal all of the sudden.

The Benefits of Almond Oil for Grey Hair

Perhaps the most common and seemingly-inescapable hair-related problem every single person on Earth has to contend with, is its greying. The myriad of reasons for its existence is a bit too grandiose to overcome in its entirety, including elements such as overall stress and heredity, things no oil can truly help with.

Nevertheless, there are controllable causes leading to grey hair, and virtually all of them revolve around your nutrition. In most cases, it is the deficiency of some essential nutrients, like copper, vitamins B and C just to mention a few, which leads to a chemical imbalance, which in turn causes your hair to morph into that dreaded color.

Naturally, there are plenty of ways to ensure you get the nutrients you need, but the surface usage and ingestion of almond oil remains one of the few time-tested solutions out there. It is recommended, specifically for gray hairs at least, to mix the almond oil with Alma juice, filling the container with about half of each and then massaging the contents into your scalp for about fifteen minutes... a process which should be repeated on a daily basis. You could also add a bit of almond oil to your cooking; you really don't need a lot of it, and it is actually highly advisable that you don't eat too much of it for, after all, it is an oil and high in fatty contents.

Does Almond Help Hair Grow Faster?

Along with grey hair usually comes another problem: hair loss. Unfortunately, age does take its toll on our beautiful manes, usually leading to thinning, which itself then turns into the hair loss. Fortunately, there are ways of fighting against it, and one of them is to use almond oil regularly. However, certain things need to be made clear on the subject.

To begin with, the ingestion or application of almond oil will not, in itself, cause your hair to grow faster, regrow, or anything like that. What it will do is improve the health of your existing hair in many ways, which has its own consequences, to be discussed soon. How precisely does it improve your hair? Well it:

  • Promotes blood circulation to the scalp.
  • Moisturizes the skin and roots of your hairs.
  • Makes the hair stronger and more resilient to breakages.
  • Prevents the hair from tangling up.
  • Acts as a protective layer against the damage caused by sun rays.

In other words, it will repair, maintain and improve the health of your head, hair and scalp. In turn, this will create a favorable environment for hair growth, promoting it to happen. It needs to be made clear that many of us, no matter how hard we try, won't be able to have the last laugh over hair loss, barring the invention of some miracle technology, though humanity does have bigger things to worry about, so that probably won't be coming anytime soon.

With everything being said and done, almond oil is certainly a very powerful weapon to have in your arsenal, regardless of whether you are looking to fight against hair loss, bring back to your hair the color it deserves, or simply maintain it in as healthy and beautiful a shape as possible. It certainly wouldn't be wise to place all of your hopes on this one piece of the puzzle, but it's a great place to start if you feel you have been negligent towards your hair.

Remember, it does take a bit of patience and dedication to get the results you want, especially when it comes to hair-related matters; the important part is to never give up!
